Keeping you updated on the latest in English otome games!
Here you'll find information about traditional visual novel style GxB otome games, RPGs with otome elements, as well as GxG games made for a female audience.
An otome game (乙女ゲーム, otome gēmu, literally meaning girl game) is a story based video game that is targeted towards a female market. Generally one of the goals, besides the main plot goal, is to develop a romantic relationship between the female player character and one of several male, or occasionally female characters.

Kisaki Otome Game Company Seeking Japanese to English Translators
So, I just got this comment on one of my videos on YouTube, and as you can guess, it sparked my interest.
I went to their YouTube channel, checked it out a bit and found their other network profiles in the process (see the about page on the YouTube page).
These guys are hoping to spread their work to an English speaking audience, but they’re in need of translators.
If you ask me, otome games needing to be translated is a pretty big deal, since there aren’t many that are translated into English. So please, spread this around so Tumblr also knows about this deal!
Here’s some pics of their stuff, the art looks pretty cool.
Reunion of Angel English demo is out!
Official site: http://li-project.lix.jp/main/05_game/index.htm
You can download the game demo from the download menu. It is fully voiced in Japanese!
The game only works for Windows.
I only made the GUI, so I haven’t played it yet myself. (*´∀｀*) It also has an original OP song!
What can we say? BIG. THING. Possibly the biggest in MoaCube’s brief history!
Any help with spreading the word is much appreciated. Let’s show Valve that narrative games for a slightly different audience can still do well on Steam!
Hakuoki: Stories Of The Shinsengumi Limited Edition Delayed To May 20th
The collector’s edition of Hakuoki: Stories of the Shinsengumi has been delayed from its May 6 release date to May 20, Aksys Games announced.
“While in manufacturing, we found that one of the limited edition components was not up to our standards,” Aksys said in an e-mail. “In order to give fans the limited edition they deserve, we have decided to delay the ship date of Hakuoki: Stories of the Shinsengumi Limited Edition to May 20, 2014 to correct the issue.”
“We apologize for the inconvenience to all our fans. Rest assured we are working as quickly as we can to resolve this issue. Thank you for your cooperation and continued support.”
The standard and PlayStation Network digital versions will still launch on May 6.
Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town - True Love Edition
”Falling in love is one of the most memorable moments in any Harvest Moon game. Unfortunately for some, it always seemed like you had to choose between who you wanted to be and who you wanted to love. I think some of you out there have been waiting for a game like this for a very long time now.
(More) Friends of Mineral Town is arguably one of the best in the Harvest Moon series. The True Love Edition is a ROM Hack that swaps Claire (girl) and Pete (boy) into each other’s respective games. Now Claire has a chance to woo the lovely ladies of Mineral Town, and Pete can choose among the town’s strapping young bachelors! I hope you enjoy falling in love again.”
I’m reposting this, as the original post was taken down. The game can now be downloaded in patch format, and was created by kataiki on Tumblr. Find out more here!
On that note, the position to anyone interested in becoming a mod for otomegamerconfessions, as the ones who were interested haven’t messaged back. I have about 60+ (and climbing!) confessions in the inbox, & I rather not leave them to rot in there. Also, this blog still gets quite a few new followers as well (thank you & apologies for not having any new confessions!)
Honestly, if you have the time & a love for otome games, that’s all you really need. I already have the template set up, it’s just up to you to find an image (official art only!) and to fix up the confession.
Many thanks for those who read this!
If you’re interested, feel free to let them know here!
Would like to seek the help of fellow otome gamers here in a survey for my friend’s research project in otome games! She’s holding a raffle/lucky draw as well for those who participate in the survey so please do help out if you can!
Due to the content of some otome games, some of the questions within this survey may be offensive or triggering to certain audiences.
If you have a Japanese friend, you can also share a Japanese version of this survey here: http://www.instant.ly/s/2KSJM
More details about the survey and prizes you can win by taking part are below.
